Experienced Clinical Perspective. Thoughtful Case Support.
I’m Lise Wonders, a registered nurse and founder of Wonders Clinical Consulting. My healthcare career began as a nursing assistant in long-term care and progressed through LPN practice before I earned my RN license. Over more than two decades in healthcare, my experience has spanned clinical nursing, staff development and education, case management, medical record and claims review, specialty care, and perioperative nursing.
That breadth of experience has given me the opportunity to view healthcare from many perspectives—from direct patient care and clinical documentation to care coordination, quality review, education, and surgery. Today, I bring that perspective to the careful review and analysis of medically complex cases.
Clinical Experience Behind the Work
I began my healthcare career as a CNA in long-term care, later becoming an LPN and ultimately earning my RN license. Over more than two decades in healthcare, my experience has expanded across a variety of clinical roles and settings.
My background includes long-term care, MDS responsibilities, staff development and education, mobile blood collection, specialty clinics including spine care, ENT and occupational health, insurance-related work involving HEDIS and retrospective claims review, and home health. In home health, I cared for medically fragile children and provided case management, coordinating complex needs among patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
I later transitioned into the surgical setting, first as a pre-assessment testing nurse and then into the operating room. My perioperative experience includes both adult and pediatric surgical care, with my current clinical work focused on pediatrics.
Across these settings, one skill has remained constant: making sense of detailed clinical information. Whether educating staff, coordinating care, reviewing documentation, or preparing for surgery, my work has required careful reading, critical thinking, attention to detail, and clear communication. Those same skills form the foundation of my approach at Wonders Clinical Consulting.
